     John B. Moore invented the Moore code used by RCA for 
teleprinter service. It is an ARQ code. I have been trying 
to find some biographical information on Dr. Moore and more 
about his work but have drawn an almost complete blank using 
Google. I wonder if anyone here knows a good source. I did 
fine some patents issued to him and assigned to RCA but I 
would like more information if possible.
