Thanks for the input!
I will follow up on all pieces off advice: paper punch/-reader.
Still, if anyone else has one for sale, further input is appreciated.
Once I made more progress on my relay computer I will introduce you to my
progress - if any!
So far, I have modeled important parts with the simulation program TINA with
success.
Thanks, and regards
Hanno

I've done that. A very long time ago.

John:
I recently donated some Dekatron tubes for the restoration of the WITCH
computer also known as the Harwell Dekatron Computer located in the UK. If
you look through the photos and the videos in the following links you will
see some of the tape readers they used to load programs into the WITCH. The
first of the videos is very short, but at the very beginning there is a
Teletype of some kind sitting on a table. I have no idea who made the
Teletype or tape readers. Perhaps you and some of the more knowledgeable
folks in the group may know.
Here is the link: http://lightrefrain.net/witch/

I have a cousin in the theater world: I'll ask him how to go about it.
In the meantime, you might consider just naming a price that you can
live with, and offering a "buyback" option if you're satisfied with the
way they've treated it.
Alternatively, you could lease it to the production company, and factor
in the cost of insurance.

Hey everyone; being there was a bit of discussion on relay computers
(and building a relay computer), I thought it might be interesting to
post this here.
Someone in Parma, Ohio is selling a 1964 vintage, custom made, relay
computer built by Bell Labs engineers.
Asking price is $100.00; was once part of a CNC machine.
The CL page is here: http://cleveland.craigslist.org/sys/2289527889.html
Cheers everyone!

Hey folks,
On the subject of relay computers, here is one I found some time ago...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3wPBcmSb2U
There was another YouTube video by Harry that showed him building and
assembling all the registers etc.
Regards,
Alf

Although nothing like that, one of my middle school science fair projects was a
32 bit binary adder-subtractor built out of relays. I don't remember exactly
but this was somewhere around 1970-71. I used a massive amount of 120 volt DC
coil 4PDT rectangular metal can relays, panel mount toggle switches, and neon
lamps. I remember my biggest problem at the time was the 120 volt DC power
supply but I did eventually get the whole thing to work right.
I got second place, first place went to a kid whose parents donated a mint to
build a new gym.

I bet that kid transfered to MN and was one of the "jocks" that pushed our
ASR33 down three flights of stairs.
