[GreenKeys] APPROPRIATE POSTINGS

Gentlemen:
I've been following this thread with a great deal of distress. While ham
radio has been a major interest of mine going back to teenage years I had
been inactive for nearly 25 years and only a few years ago have come back as
a retirement hobby. My teletype machines were in storage but I did have
the sense to first liberally soak them in a mixture of spindle oil and 10W30
and with a little cleaning, they are back in my new shack and all are fully
functional. In the "old days" I couldn't possibly have afforded a model 28
although I have corrected that with both ASR and KSR models now. I have
taken machines from rusty "masses" to fully functional with oil and 400 wet
or dry paper. I love these old things! At the moment I have no room for
more.
I do wish some of you would recognize that many of your "more pure"
postings don't happen to meet my own standards and that you might want to
"cut some slack." In the case under consideration at the moment, for
example, I would hope you would remember that his posting, while perhaps not
at all appropriate, reflects the thoughts of someone who routinely helps a
lot of people and without doubt makes more contributions to our specialty
interest than most! Guys, there ain't that many of us! Today, people
refer to "RITTEY" and, in case you haven't noticed, in League publications
you won't find a mention of a true machine! I also subscribe to reflectors
of Flex-Radio, TAPR, ARRL and local clubs. I find the same complaints being
made on all of them. The last time I checked, I do have a couple of
"delete" keys on my keyboard and I use them. I suggest you do the same!
And do you realize how silly you appear when you object to that simple
action?
