Probably not the st-6 as you said, not enough toroids. Also not enough 
switches that would be used.  More like a st-5.  Just looking at the meter 
and the switch under it.

I put together a TU from the schematic of the st-6.  I did not  have all the 
parts so redesigned the circuit somewhat.  It still worked very well.  Later 
I found a set of boards that had most of the parts installed and other parts 
in the box.  Put that together and it did about the same as the homebuilt 
unit.

About a year ago I bought a st-6 off ebay for about $ 20.  Just wanted the 
comercial version.
