In the book 'RTTY from A to Z" by Durward J. Tucker (1970) there are pictures and descriptions of both the 311 and 321 - pages 153 and 154.

Thanks to everyone who commented on the Kleinschmidt Drum printers.
I had seen an AN/FGC-80 at the signal Corps TTY school at Ft. Gordon, late
in 1966, but never saw the insides of one. They must have just gotten one
in to look at, they were not teaching it yet. The AN/UGC-74 was designed
by Kleinschmidt and around the same time period, (they are both in the 1970
KLI Military catalog) so they may have shared some designs. The KLI
catalog also shows an AN/FGC-140 that looks like a FGC-80 "ASR" (page
printer with tape punch & reader).
In E. E. Kleinschmidt's book, "Printing Telegraphy...A New Era Begins"
c1963, there is mention and pictures of two new comercial units: the "Model
311 Electronic Data Printer" and the "Model 321 Automatic Data Set" (aka
ASR) which would do up to 400 wpm. But no details of construction.
Have fun,
Duncan
