[GreenKeys] Teletype Model 28 - Wall Mount 1962

Thanks to Jack, Don and all the others who have contributed to my limited
knowledge of wall mounted Teletype machines. I can imagine that a Teletype
machine mounted to a wall that was not solid concrete or steel would turn
the wall into an acoustic baffle and thereby turn the entire wall into one
giant resonating surface.
Cheers,

I can only envision that monster on a ship...anywhere esle
and the wall would have to be concrete....I've seen the Model 35
version in brochures...

We had one customer that had a small office and thought they could use
the wall mount 28.
After it was delivered and the installation was discussed the customer
decided not to use it.
The office was rented space and the owner of the building did not want
the huge heavy
machine mounted to the wall. It was a good thing as the walls were
built cheaply and they
would have had to be heavily reinforced. Also the wall where the
machine was to be put
had no insulation so the storage area behind would have been a big
sounding board for
all to hear. A standard 28 RO was installed instead. I have no idea
what happened to the
wall mount RO after that. TTY Corp also advertised Model 35 wall-
mounts as well.
Best,
Don
