George is correct... only difference is we called them a "20 Year Box"
The local hardware store here carries both 6-32 and 6-40 taps and dies.
But they do not carry the machine screws.

I have thousands of Teletype parts here in boxes waiting to fill your
needs, the only problem is that they are not sorted. I have to fish
through the stuff to find anything. Teletype part numbers will not help
I need a good description.

Perhaps the screw that Jack was mentioning is the single shipping screw
that is in the center of the pan that threads into the base casting of
the
typing unit. It should only be used for shipping.

It is painful to junk out a machine, but when the mouse pee and other
negatory things make it unfeasable to save, one should go through it and
pull all of the screws possible and just throw them into a "Hell Box".

I have never known a TTY repairman to NOT have that magic assortment
in the
bottom tray of his leather bag, or a wooden cigar box, or any other
likely
container, full of those precious goodies that many of you now lament
the
absence thereof.

If you don't have one, start one. If you know someone who has a big
one, ask
him to share a portion of the wealth, if he is willing. Most TTY types
are
happy to help out newbies.
