Hi All:
I am nearly done with my KSR-33 project.
I need one piece of advice.... The machine is missing the
roller for the paper. Temporarily, I have been using a
large wooden dowel through the paper roll to hold it, but
am looking for a better solution.
I am wondering if a 3/4 inch outside piece of ABS or PVC
electrical conduit might do a good job. I may pick a small
section up this weekend anyway and give it a try if I don't
end up having to buy a full length. I find the wooden
dowell is rough enough that it can bind the paper roll.
This machine was the same one I used back in 1985 to serve
as a printer for my C-64 computer. I loaned it to a friend
who used it for a year, and then stored it in his barn for
the next 20 some years. Most of the problems with the
machine were associated wih this storage in less than ideal
conditions.
I have it operating now thanks to the help of several
members of this list providing parts and advice.
Eventually, due to severe rusting on several parts of the
machine, I decided to find a new (to me) printer assembly,
and did so, which leaves me now with the old one for spare
parts to maintain the machine in the future.
I still need buff its exterior, and then to hook up its
loop to the computer and Heavy Metal to provide a TTY
source for the museum display, and I will try to get that
done this weekend. When I have that done, I will post
another video on YouTube of the KSR-33 running.

Next in line for restoration is a Fairchild Teletypesetter
Standard Perforator which is due to be dropped off later
this week, then hopefully a Model 15 or 19 whenever I find
one in the Maritime Provinces.
My first restoration was to a Model 28 ASR donated to the
display by Bernie MacIntyre. It was completed in the early
spring, and links to its online video are available on the
page linked below.
Thanks again to all who helped out with advice and parts!
Greenkeys and its users are an incredible resource.
