I would look at the "Ltrs" finction bar... it may be a "blank"
(all tines broken off)
using the keybord alternate the LTRS & FIGS keys
does the typebox attempt to move from ltrs to figs sides?

the Ltrs/Figs shift is controlled by the function box.
you may have a broken function bar or the funcion stripper bar may
be disconnected from the clutch arm.
