Even more than the "100 uF," the "Hoff ... ST" was valuable to me.
Until a few minutes ago, I didn't know that Irwin Hoff existed,
or what an ST demodulator was.  Thanks to this information and
Google, I know a little more now.

In particular, I've discovered his article "An Introduction to
Amateur Radioteletype," which is online in several places.  It contains
a good discussion of power supply matters.  This should 
have been an obvious source, of course, but bear in mind that my path to 
the Teletype has not been through amateur radio but through letterpress 
printing.

So I'm learning, one small step at a time.
