Larry didn't make a typo - he was quoting me - And I'll
admit - now I'm confused.

I have two Navy model 28 KSR manuals -
Navships 0967-173-7010  In section 573-100-200TC page 4
(installation) figure 3 Bottom dimensions (top - floor
model) it shows "1/2 - 13THR'D (4 places)"

Bottom of figure 3 shows "1/4 - 20THR'D (4 places)" - which
I've checked and matches my table-top cabinet.

Navships 913963 Exploded parts diagram figure 7-109 shows
the ID for the mounting foot to be H701. Parts list page
8-41 lists H701 as Foot, mounting: Steel, nickel plated;
Slot between head and threaded shank, drive slot across end
of shank; approx 7/8" diam x 29/32" lg o/a; mts by 1/2" - 13
threaded shank.

So - are both books wrong? or did the navy use different
hardware than the rest of the world?

Come to think of it - I also have a set of 28ASR manuals ---
let's see what they say...

Navships 0967-173-6010 volume 1 section 573-101-200TC
sub-section 2 Figure 3  yup 1/2 - 13THD (4 places)
It also lists TTY P/N as 151555 - but does not show the
"specs" for that part. It does note a 3/4 wrench is needed
to adjust.

1/2 - 13 is a standard US size (National Coarse - National
Fine is 1/2 - 20).  I've never heard of 1/2 - 18tpi bolt...

Here is one reference to "standard threads"...

<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unified_Thread_Standard>

(google 1/2 18tpi --- hmmm lots of hits... yes indeed - but
most seem to be band-saw blades (1/2" wide 18 teeth per
inch...) and conduit couplers which are indeed 1/2 x 18tpi).

yup I'm confused!
