I've been thinking we should approach a "paper converter" company about
getting our paper and tape made - maybe you know a company that would be
receptive to our needs. How big an order would it take to interest one?
When I was working for Teletype back in the mid 1960s we seemed to be able
to get any special kind of paper or tape we needed, but I never thought
to ask where it came from. Of course in those days the standard stuff
like we need now was standard stuff and widely available. But we could
get unusual stuff - I remember at one time the Inktronic project was using
a roll of paper with sprocket feed holes because they were having trouble
at the time getting friction feed to work at the speeds they needed.
It was roll paper, not folded forms, and a much bigger roll than the
standard teleprinter roll. And when the new stock ticker based on
Model 37 printer came out I think it used a different width of ticker
tape than its predecessor.
