The KY designator is for a voice encryption device, at least as far as
I remember......they kept me away from stuff I didn't need to know :)>
Most likely something to put encrypted data traffic on a voice channel.

the motor in the rear drives a horizontal shart that goes through a "Speed Regulator" with adjustment range of 15 - 240 (yes) words
