Hi folks:

Hope everyone had a great New Years!

I had someone requesting info on the machine that produced the ticker
tape in the following pictures -- the pieces are said to have come from
Black Thursday and Black Tuesday in October 1929. I don't know much
about those machines, but there are some of you out there who certainly
must. It looks like 11/16" standard paper tape, but printed in two rows
of letters (which look to be about 3/16" tall). Anyone know what kind
of ticker could have produced this tape in 1929? There is also a small
bit torn from a page printer; I suppose that would possibly be an M12,
but I'm not sure. The type on that is about 1/8" tall.

On an unrelated note, I have posted some pics from one of my favorite
sci-fi movies, Andromeda Strain (1971). There are pics of the 33ASR
that they painted black -- I just may do that someday with a cracked
crappy 33 cover. There are also some pics of M35s, including the paper
scrap in the bell. Just a fun little bit of teletype trivia from the
movies. Next I'll need to get some pics from Brazil.
