Now the machine that is in the upper left corner identified as Model 10
we suspect is actually a Model 13. Model 10 was a Western Electric
page printer, which supposedly had a fixed carriage and moving type
basket. The printer in the picture looks more like a Model 12, as
it appears to have a moving paper platen. Supposedly the Bell System
made up some sets consisting of the punched tape equipment from the
Model 10 with the Model 10 printer replaced by a Model 12, and this
was called Model 13. The reason was that the Model 10 printer was
excessively costly to manufacture.
