Hello, Jim. Welcome to Greenkeys from a fellow UK resident. I used to be
G8EXV, though never ran my own station.
I too have been an owner of Creed machines in the past, from the 1970s.
I started with a 7B and added a 6S6 tape reader at some stage. Later
graduated to a 7E with the overlap cam so it printed the character on
the same revolution of the main shaft. At some stage I acquired an
Olivetti machine but it was a very poor design to my mind. I eventually
wound up with a Siemens T100 which was excellent and similar in function
to the Creed 444. Once I got into computers I got rid of the lot, Im
afraid.
Through a contact with BARTG I'vebeen trying to help a group in the
Wirral get a couple of 444s working in the Naval Radio Museum display.
They are short of an 80-0-80 power supply. Any ideas where there might
be one lurking and looking for a new home?
Cheers,
Sam Hallas
