Hi Guys...

I sent some pictures of my winder to Dave off the list... and then
I've uploaded them here,

http://picasaweb.google.com/117891262011490779403/JHBunnellTapeWinder?authkey=Gv1sRgCOGJptH7kLDBmwE&feat=directlink

It was made by J.H. Bunnell & Co but there are no date marks on it of
any sort.

There is a 1/4" shaft that extends from the mechanism onto which is
attached a round plate, 6" in dia with a square stud 5/8" on a side
protruding from the center. This stud has a set screw that grasps
the 1/4" shaft from the "motor" and then two ball bearings on opposite
sides out near the end. I assume this is to grasp but allow easy install
and removal of the reel that the tape winds onto.

There is a wire arm that when pushed down, instantly stops the winder
from winding similar to how the pin in a music box stops the spring
mechanism from spinning, stopping the motor.
