Hi All,
Does anyone have information on a Western Union Automatic Message Numbering
Machine 11-A? It's an interesting piece of electromechanical gear I recently
acquired, and it generates Baudot in a specific sequence:
1) NUL
2) NUL
3) LF
4) CR
5) LTRS
6) LTRS
7) LTRS
8) FIGS
9) Hundreds digit of counter
10) Tens digit of counter
11) Ones digit of counter
12) NUL
Photos are here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tubetime/4899089447/ and here:

Every time you go through the whole 12-step cycle it increments the counter
(which are the large black Geneva mechanisms you can see in the photos).
I think it might have been used to add a sequence number to a line or
message. It looks like it is supposed to be mounted in a rack with similar
gear.
Any information would be appreciated. If anyone wants the schematic I have
reverse engineered that too.
