I didn't read the article that way. I  read it as a review of Stephen 
Fry's programme from earlier in the week where it was Stephen Fry who 
claimed that QWERTY was intended to slow the typist down. The tone of 
the article seemed to imply that such a conclusion is moot.

As Fry is such a devotee of Twitter, perhaps someone ought to tweet him 
with a rebuttal.
