In a gunsmithing class I took, they recommend a product called "simple 
green"
for degreasing. You can buy it at Advance Auto Parts. You spray it on, 
let it
sit awhile, and rinse off all the goo with water. If the grease is 
thicker, you may
have to break out a toothbrush and scrub a bit. Blow dry with an air 
compressor.
Keep away from electrical stuff. Works for me for small stuff.
