John,

If you are willing and able to RE_LUBRICATE the entire mechanism:
50-50 household ammonia and 409 cleaner.  Apply with spray bottle and  
brush.  Rinse VERY well

If you don't want to lubricate the one million places:
-use diesel fuel or kerosene

In either case, oil everything in sight after cleaning.
