Teletype equipment  For that equipment the synchronous and governed
motors run at the same speed and use the same gears.  For earlier
equipment the governed motors ran at a different speed and used
different gears, and thus require a different tuning fork frequency.
I forget now what the frequency is.  Then sometimes you'll see old
tuning forks marked "British Speed" and those are to allow the
Teletype equipment to be sped up to 50 baud to interoperate with
European equipment.
