[GreenKeys] Removing ASR33 typewheel

I want to remove the typewheel on my ASR33 Teletype to clean it.  The
documentation indicates there is a special tool needed to hold the
typewheel when tightening the nut on the top of the typewheel.

Is it possible to remove, clean and reinstall the typewheel without
this tool?  If so, what are the instructions?

What can I use to clean the typewheel?  Alcohol? Water? ??
