I use them for loop supplies.  I believe they were used for the coin return 
and collect hopper relay in payfones and, for the test bureau when they 
tested the POTS lines for the "forbidden" extension fones...looking for a 
high ringer capacitor kick.  Rugged and will last several lifetimes.
