Hey John,
You might have a bad loop keying transistor. I had to replace the one
in my ST-6000 that I also got at a hamfest. I don't remember the part
number, but I can check my notes.
BTW, I suggest you get a copy of the manual from Hal directly. It is
WELL worth the money!
