I took advantage of the "after turkey dinner" resting period to finally
open up my new ST-8000A I bought one of the early big bux jobs and it
was still in the sealed plastic bag. It is, indeed, a beautiful piece of
equipment. And the manual is easily understandable.
I want to use the method that some of you have in removing the military
connectors on the rear panel and simply installing RCA phono jacks for
audio in and out and RS-232 in and out.
But first I must remove the internal connectors on J1 and J3. Now I know
this is simple for those who know the "secret." And I guess I have to
press some place and pull those connectors up and off the pins. But I
don't want to go jerking around on them and do some damage.
So please tell me how to do this so I won't feel so dumb anymore. It is
my intention to be on the air with real RTTY using a computer,
DS-RTTY-Win and the ST-8000A by the new year.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
