Harry's message prompts me to ask a question of the brain trust here on Greenkeys.
As Harry states, Telex is still used in the shipping industry. And of course KPH had several Telex lines serving the station, driving 60ma and later 20ma loops.
My research shows that it's no longer possible to order the classic Telex line we'd need to reactivate true Telex service art KSM (the call of the station now operating using the KPH facilities). So my question is this:
Is there a way to simulate Telex service using other technology such as a dial up modem driving a 60ma loop or other arrangement?
Ideally we'd be looking for full answerback, etc., just as was the case with the original Telex.
One problem we have at the receive station (where the Telex service would be put in place) is that we have no Internet connection beyond a slow, rural dial up line.
All suggestions appreciated.
