If I understand correctly - you have ONE magnet coil hooked up with 
55ma???  If that's true STOP!!!!!  those coils are designed for 20 - 
30ma (each). One coil with 55ma is nearly double the design current.

If the coils are in series - then 20ma current is right - as the total 
current passes through each one.

If the coils are in parallel - then 60ma current is right - as half 
(30ma.) passes through each coil -

I'm concerned that 55ma. through one coil might overheat it and do 
damage eventually.
