Any gurus on the list happen to recall the number of the stubby 7 pin
miniature tube soldered into a socket and coated with red shellac or
varnish?  There was also a single resistor tween 2 pins on the tube socket
and 3 cloth covered wires with spade terms on the ends..... was it the 426?
I used to make simple audio oscillators from those by adding just a cap....
think I still have a case of them, individually wrapped in tissue that came
from Northrop Institute of Technology EE lab...  isnt that a 'gas triode'
once used in telco switching?
