[GreenKeys] RTTY News IS Available on HF

>I had an idea that I would like to get feedback on. As has been pointed out here on Greenkeys, there are no HF sources of RTTY news feeds. I presently use Heavy Metal to get AP headlines, which is fun, but leaves me wanting more.

And you should have more!  Others with more knowledge will advise on the viability of the land line system you mention.  But I'd like to remind all enthusiasts that there IS a source of news (and weather) on HF via our station KSM.

We're on the air each Saturday starting at about 1000-1030 US Pacific time on 8433.0 and
12631.0kc.  KSM uses two modes of "RTTY": Baudot and FEC. Baudot transmissions are at 170cps shift, 45 baud. FEC transmissions are at 170cps shift, 100 baud.  Power is about 5kW into gain antennas on each frequency.

Transmissions include the "Wheelhouse Weekly" (the Masters, Mates & Pilots Free press) and high seas weather.
