Gents, I have begun revamping the beautiful Model 28RO I recently 
acquired, and it is more of a treasure than I imagined. I pulled the 
printer this morning and discovered it has an "almost like new" 
three-speed gear shift in it.
It was remarkably clean for having been in storage for 25 or more years, 
but a gallon of Simple Green and an equal amount of water did the trick. 
Several hours on one side, and a couple more on the other and it came 
out clean as a new baby. Whoever suggested Simple Green did us all a 
service. It beats kerosene in every respect.
But I have "assumptions" that require your knowledge. Below and just in 
front of the paper roll there is what I always thought was a "stunt 
box." A long bar with slots in it. This one has several black clips 
stuck in a few slots. Am I right in thinking I can pull all those for 
ham use?

This one also has what looks like a loop supply built in, and a black 
box and a thing with a pull handle on top which I think might be a polar 
or some kind of relay.

This one also has a phone line coming in with the yellow, green, and red 
wires tapped into the terminal block that runs across the top and back 
of  the box. I guess that's where I would find the "ends" of the loop.

Anyway, I'm open to any suggestions as I proceed. After cleaning, I 
dried it with the air compressor and it's ready for lubing. If I can 
find my olive-drab can of "Gob Grease" I'll be in business. Any of you 
who were in the military in the "big" war might remember Gob Grease. It 
stays where you put it.
