At one point, I managed a few programmers and we had a print station
that had a drum printer, full width computer paper, had a row of hammers
that would pick off the characters as they spun by.

We had one of those as the main computer output when I was a new 2nd Lt at
my first assignment in NORAD's space surveillance center in Cheyenne
Mountain. The computer was aging Philco-Ford 2000 with Hollarith punch card
and Flexowriter inputs. There was also an offline batch job processor that
was a Philco-Ford 1000.
