[GreenKeys] RTTY and ITTY: It took me a very long time, but I am enjoying it...

In 1948 I was 6 years old. Not into HAM radio nor RTTY. My father and
grandfather built me an electric board with switches, buzzers and
lights.
Now 60 years later I still am into lots of things electrical.
In 1958 I was 16 and building Radio Shack kits. I still have most of
them.
I think the Ocean Hopper was my favorite.
In 1968 I was 26 and out of the Navy working for Illinois Bell as a
Teletype serviceman.
Short wave listening and no thoughts of having my own Teletype machine.
In 1978 I was still with the phone company but now heading up the data
test center.
In 1988 I was promoted from special services circuit designer to
transmission engineering.
I picked up my first 35ASR with only a few hours on it from a vendor
who was going to trash it.
Along with the ASR came a 35RO. I used the ASR to print labels for
the Packard Club mailings.
In 1998 I was living in California just fired from Tollgrade
Communications and taking care of
my parents estate. Having started the museum Pac Bell came out and
did a feature on my use
of ISDN and our museum.
2008 brings me back to northern Illinois, a place I had hoped to stay
away from. Most of the items
in the museum are stored and owned by the SDSU Library. However I
still have a large collection
of Teletype machines and am now finally a HAM. Got my Technician in
2005 and my General in
April of 2008.
A lot of things happened to me along the way. But it is easier to take
a subject and do every 10 year steps.
I hope this did not bother you too much.
