I saw this while working for ignal One in Gardena back in the early '70s.
And what I saw was the consumer driving the prices down by any means
possible by demanding, "We want it cheap, we want it now, and we don't
care if it's crap, because we'll get tired of it soon."

It was that marketing driective that caused the destruction of quality and
customer service.
