That's rather sad, Roy. Here in the UK many of our closed rail routes
have been set aside as footpaths or cycle ways. So there's no problem
with walking on them.
That's fine until the rail operators want to re-open the route and then
the so-called greenies complain about losing a cycle way, rather than
celebrating the dundreds of lorries that could be taken off the roads as
a result.
