I forgot to add that the new adaptor rings as well as a landline. Its
wall wart is beefier than the old one's.

///////////////////////

The adaptor manual said max REN 5.0 but it wouldn't ring even one 2500
or any phone with a real ringer. "Tech support" didn't know what I was
talking about when i mentioned what the manual said but claimed my phone
from the 70's was too old! Manual said "any standard touchtone phone"
but my saying mine is THE standard touchtone phone didn't do any good.
All that was the source of frustration that could cause a stroke.

Later the adaptor started ringing the phone well enough unexpectedly. I
suppose a remote upgrade did it. When I added a second phone both rang
weakly but marginally well enough. Later still the adaptor developed
other problems and was replaced. The new one did away with the bad noise
of the original, improved sound quality both ways, and works with dial
pulse as well as TT. Now it is line 2 on my 1A2 key system and it even
returns dusconnect supervision to the key system, a pleasant surprise.
