John:
Thanks for the tip on Colomor. I have purchased tubes from them before for
my stack of Racal radios and accessories, but had forgotten about them as a
possible source for CRT's.
Also, thanks to Bill Henry for the alternate CRT possibilities and to Don
and Ron for your suggestions and information.
Regards,
Steve Ripper

Steve,
There's a first rate British firm that does a lot of CRT sales you might
check with if you can will put some data together on your tube. A few
months ago I purchased some 1" CRT's for my Eldico equipment for very
affordable prices. The tube I bought was advertised as:
DH3/91 CV2302 CRT MULLARD 1CP1 NOS TUBE VALVE NEW 1 H
I have no idea if this is the same tube or a relative but you might draw
them a schematic of your tube and then try one to see how it works. The
Phosphor rating should be 1 and if you measure your filament voltage, plate
voltage, etc. a fit might be found. Tubes have enough characteristics they
sometimes share with each other and I would think CRT's would also. Their
ebay name is (juliett mike golf seven four four):
jmg744
Their store name is COLOMOR VALVES TUBES COMPONENTS

Don, Steve, and all:
The original CRT used in the ST-6000 was the Brimar D3-130. Later,
we switched to the AEG Telefunken D3-11. The two tubes are
practically identical. We also used the Ultron D3-14GH for a while
but it requires a different socket. The 1CP1 and 1EP1 are not direct
replacements and will require different sockets and probably some
wiring changes as well. The ST-6000 CRT circuit uses a pretty low HV
and that may also be a problem with other 1" tubes. One other
approach might be to look for the Millen 1" CRT module. That's where
we started and we bought the ST-6000 bezels from Millen for as long
as they were in business. The Millen module should fit mechanically
- but you will no doubt have to play some games making your own
deflection amplifiers.
Have fun.
