Larry:
Something is definitely "fishy". The original packing of the
ST-8000A was in two cartons, the inner one waterproofed in
"seal-a-meal" evacuated plastic wrapping (aka "depot packing"). The
complete package weighed 30 lbs - easily within UPS, FED-X, USPO, or
any other shipping agent's capability. Our records do not show that
HAL has "refurbished" ANY of the ST-8000A modems. Also, refurbish
training or instruction was not requested nor offered to any US
government personnel or commercial firm.
