Ok, I'm in the shop now and have two PC boxes I'm playing wtih.
The software I'm working with is TTYSIM and TTY (From the
rxcontrol.free.fr site)

I brought up XP and turned the FIFO buffering off and rebooted
the PC. Hrmmm, ok, I'm getting single character copy now. But
it's still garbled.

Ok, bring up the Win98 SE PC. Download TTY.exe and install
it. Same problem. Garbled text. So I switched to TTYSIM (which
does not run under XP, hence the 98 box) 

Perfect copy. 

Well, at least I'm getting the news feed from ITTY now and that's
definately a step in the right direction. ;-)

One thing I noticed about the TTY program, it auto sets the baud
rate. Apparently it's not as clever as it thinks it is. At least TTYSYM
allows me to force the baud rate to 45.45.

I ordered DSRTTY-Win from Hal Communications. That should be
in the shop some time next week. I'll let you know how that works.
