Greetings Brothers;
I don't see how the D&D can get much better, but each time it seems to do
so.
In the letters to the editor I read a couple of articles where people
were even using, or demonstrating the use of teletype.
I have a complete set up of a model 15 teletype complete with
transmitter distributor, and reperforator as well as the power supply
to furnish loop current. Most of the manuals are still with it.
I have not used it for many years, but it was in excellent shape when
I last used it. We had moved and could not take it with us. I cried at
the prospect taking it to the dump, so I left it with my daughter in
San Jose, Ca. She has stored it in a shed, but tells me that space is
at a premium, and it must go.
If you are aware of any one who would be interested in a model 15 (
museum, personal, or ??) I would be pleased to make it available. If
some one in the Bay area would be interested it would reduce the cost
of shipping.
Please excuse the typing errors. I used to work at the division point
for the GM&O in Bloomington Il. (BN) (The target) and copied
standing train orders. They had to be recopied daily and repeated to
the dispatcher. If I had fresh carbons I could recopy as many of 12
copies at a time, but had to really stomp on the keyboard. Stomping
was a habit I developed, and have never been able to break my self of
stomping on the key board. It doesn't work well at all on these
electronic keyboards where the slightest touch causes it to print.
If you can put me in touch with any one who would be interested in a
model 15 teletype set up it might save a valuable piece of history
from ending up in a dump, and save me the tears of seeing it happen.
