Which is exactly what I've done. Gone to the source (didn't take all
that much detective work - they are listed as the source for FSN
9150-00-448-5009 / TTY 88970 / KS7470  and they have a MSDS still
published for the stuff (primary ingredient: "Proprietary").

Then Jim Hayes offered:

I have asked, that if we can't make a deal - would they at least tell us
an equivalent "off the shelf" lubricant that meets all the specs of
KS7470... That too is to be discussed next week.

Obviously - If I have some idea of the likely demand "out there" - I'll 
be in a better position to know once we get into specifics on costs / 
quantities, etc. whether or not I'm on a fool's errand  (certainly 
wouldn't be the first - nor last likely, but I'd like to be the first to 
know rather than the last!).
