The subject of what oil to use on Teletype machines has come up
again. If you’d like to get some 10 wt. or 20 wt. motor oil, there
is a source on the web. The company is Restoration Supply Co.
and they are located near San Diego. www.restorationstuff.com
They are in the business of supplying items for the restoration of
vintage automobiles. I’ve purchased from them in the past and
I’ve been perfectly satisfied with their service. They have all
types of Lubriplate motor oils. I’ve purchased the non-detergent
variety ($3.75 a quart in the catalog) and I like the product. I
mention this source only because I haven’t seen a quart of 10 wt.
motor oil on a local store shelf in years.
