Re: copper on the ATT towers. Just before I sold mine, I told my son,
Oliver, to strip the waveguides and feed lines to the 4 horns. Copper was
just starting to "heat up" and my tower was inside a national park....no
real security in that area.

OK, he cut down all the rectangualar waveguides feeding the combiners....he
cut off the brass flanges on the 20 foot lengths of copper. I told him to
be careful removing the main feed lines to the 250 top of the tower...I told
him they're hanging on the horns with no intermediate support. But, like
most kids, dad must be wrong, right?

He cut the feeder about 3/4's thru on the one horn and hell broke loose.
The waveguide plunged downward going about 3 feet into the ground....the
tower shook violently...he thought he was finished...but those towers are
tough...this one hardened for the atomic attack.

The next 3 feeders were cut and off he went to the scrap yard.....$15,000
wealthier and the yard didn't ask any questions about where he got the
copper! ! ! You know, now that I think about it, he never told me what he
did with the money ):>(
