Ransom D. Slayton
Services for Ransom D. Slayton, 81, of Glenview, will be held at 7 p.m. 
Thursday, Sept. 10, at Glenview Evangelical Free Church, corner of Golf and 
Shermer Rd.,Glenview. Born March 10, 1917, in Salem, Neb., he died Tuesday, 
Sept.1, 1998, at Evanston Hospital.Interment will held at 10 a.m.Friday, 
Sept.11, in Chapel Hill Gardens West, Route 83 and Roosevelt Rd.,Oakbrook 
Terrace. Retired from Teletype Corportion, he was preceded in death by his 
wife, Margaret M.Slayton (nee Ang), and is survived by his children, R 
.Duane Slayton, David Slayton, Paul (MaryAnn) Slayton, Sharon (Duayne) Manz 
and Karla (Stephen) Fogel; sisters, Mary (Charles) Dornes and Alice (Walter) 
Braun; 10 grandsons; five granddaughters; and one stepgrandson. Visitation 
will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept.10, at N.H. Scott and Hebblethwaite 
Funeral Home, 1240 Waukegan Rd. (two blocks south of Lake Ave.on west side), 
Glenview. Memorials may be made to Glenview Evangelical Free Church, 2 
Shermer Rd., Glenview, IL 60025. For information, (847) 998-1020
