Brooke,
I know about regular master clock systems with minute and half-minute 
pulses, but I never heard of self-winding clocks being synchronised. You 
live and learn!

I remember introducing some of the early master clock systems to be 
synchronised to the radio standard time transmissions - MSF from Rugby 
here in the UK in those days. They were made by Patek-Phillippe, who are 
better known for making expensive wrist watches.
