Jim Harvey just sent me this. Tom Mitchell was a real pioneer in T&P.
He was not only a great engineer, but a great mechanic. He was also a
previous Customer Service teletype engineer. He could fix almost
anything. While he has been retired for many years, we kept in touch
and he was always trying to figure out the best way to make a 3 phase AC
motor start and run on single phase power. He built his own arc welder
with surplus parts, bought and repaired an International bulldozer so he
could dig a pond on his property in Highland. I have not heard from him
in several years. I am going to guess that he and his wife moved back
to Kalamazoo where I believe he grew up.

Dad - W8LTW - Thomas J. Mitchell

Dear friends and family,

It is with my deepest regret that I must inform you that my father
passed away at approximately 1:00 o'clock Saturday morning. After a
valiant battle to overcome pneumonia, followed by hospital induced
illnesses, Dad finally succumbed to a complex set of medically
mystifying complications. I'm truly sorry for this tremendous loss for
us all.

My mother is making the necessary arrangements and they will be
communicated as soon as possible.

You may reach my mother and other relatives at (269) 343-1944 in
Kalamazoo, MI.

With deep regret
Pierre Mitchell
