         Certainly NOT key system related, since the input is 21- 
28VDC.  Isn't 28 VDC an aircraft voltage?
         Where do you get that? So, you need a separate supply, to supply 
that supply? or 2 car batteries ...

         If you want hefty, look at a real ring generator, a We 20B1.
