[GreenKeys] TD not pulling tape (Fixed!)

Hi all,

 

I was having a problem with my 28 ASR TD not effectively pulling tape.
It seemed anemic. The feed sprocket was pulling strong to the touch. Tom
Tilson figured it had something to do with the gate (or whatever the
right term is). Turns out he was right.

 

I created this video showing the problem:

Whilst pressing down on the gate, the tape springs to life and moves
very nicely.

 

So I pulled the TD and took advice of Jack K0TTY to check the plates. 

 

This photo shows the the gap between the plate and the gate:

here you can see the sprocket teeth clearly. 

 

I then proceeded to adjust (lift) the plate until I could no longer see
the sprocket teeth and then tightened everything up.

and...Voila! Son of a gun! She works like a charm! Pulls that tape
through like nobody's bidness!

 

Thanks to everyone for ideas and help (thanks Tom, James, Jack, et al).

 

Tom was over last weekend and did a thorough tune up of my ASR and KSR.
Adjusted a clutch in the ASR TD so it no longer squeals when I shut her
off.

 

I'm in business!
