    Joe;

    No need to apologize -- Windows can be baffling.  Try this:

    Right click on your desktop shortcut and click on "Properties".
    Select the "Shortcut" tab at the top.
    Fill in the path to the folder where your program is located in the 
"Start in:" box.  (The path will usually be the same as the "Target:" box 
just above, with the program name at the end of the line left off.)
