[GreenKeys] Greenkeys Night

Well it looks like we have a cheerleader for an RTTY get-together on
Jan 1.

A long time ago I was promoting a Green Key Night (pun on the ARRL
Straight Key Night) for 20 February, that being the anniversary of
the FCC granting hams the privilege of using FSK on the HF bands.
And the same non-rules, not a contest, no logs, just get on the air
and have fun, but use 850 Hz shift and mechanical TTY equipment if
you can.

An obvious problem with that date is that it is on a different day of
the week every year, where a weekend is a lot better suited to an
operating event. Maybe I should have made it a weekend nearest the
20th of February. As it turned out I always felt like Linus going
door to door before Halloween telling people about the Great Pumpkin -
most of the people I encountered on the air had no idea what Green
Key Night was about. So after a few years I lost interest and quit
promoting it.

So maybe 1 January will work better, even if it doesn't have the
historical significance.
